Q: When and why did you start training for fighting?

ANSWER: Just to stay in shape at first.

Q: What professional titles have you held?

ANSWER: LFA Heavyweight Champion

Q: Any accomplishments in amateur combat sports?

ANSWER: Two-time MN state wrestling champ, 1-time NCJAA national champ

Q: Any belts/ ranks in grappling disciplines?

ANSWER: Blue belt in BJJ

Q: What has been your toughest fight to date and why?

ANSWER: My fight against Jamal Pogues because I felt like I was the better fighter and it kills me to not perform

Q: Who is your favorite fighter and why?

ANSWER: My favorite fighter is Steven Asplund because the guy is such a gamer. Fight night everything can be going wrong, and it just doesn’t bother him. It’s amazing what he can do when the bell rings. He’s like a brother to me.

Q: Do you have any heroes outside of fighting?

ANSWER: My hero is my wife and my best friend. Just like any normal guy right, she has been there with me every step of the way, helping get through everything, with a smile on her face. The lows, the highs, I couldn’t imagine life without her. Plus she gave birth to the most wonderful kids in the world, and being at home she’s just special.

Q: Is there a cause that you want to use your platform for?

ANSWER: A cause I want to use my platform is just showing kids to not give up. Life is going to life, there’s going to be highs and lows, but if you stay in the fight, and give your absolute best- good things will happen. If at the least, you’ll have some good stories to tell your kids.

Q: Beyond a championship or money, what motivates you?

ANSWER: What motivates me besides trying to give my wife and kids a better life is that I have loved competing, ever since I was a kid. It can be anything- chess, racket ball, basketball whatever. With this, I get to compete with the best guys in the world and for a kid like me that’s just a rush.

Q: Did you go to college and if so what degree did you earn?

ANSWER: Diesel Technology

Q: What was your job before you started fighting?

ANSWER: Diesel Mechanic

Q: Personal Life / Background:

ANSWER: My life outside of fighting is hectic a bit. I still work full time as a diesel mechanic for Apple valley Ready mix. However, in doing this my wife gets to stay home and raise our kids. We have 3 children- Maverick, McCoy and Madden. They are the best! All of our kids are 21 months apart, but our boys ages 4 and 2, they are truly best friends. It is so much fun watching them grow up. They go from being the most precious thing on this planet, to complete ram rods. Our baby girl Madden just turned 1, she has been nothing like our boys. She is just the sweetest little girl- ever since she was a baby just perfect.
