Q & A
Q: When and why did you start training for fighting?

I grew up training karate and started watching UFC in high school. When I was 20, I decided to try having a fight, so some friends and I trained the best we could and tried to figure out how we could compete in Bonnyville.
Q: What does it mean for you to fight for the UFC?
ANSWER:
It means a lot- even more than I thought- and I’m very happy to be back.
Q: Who is your favorite fighter and why?
ANSWER:
Lyoto Machida was my first favorite fighter because I was a kid doing karate and he was a karate fighter.
Q: Do you have any heroes?
ANSWER:
Boromir
Q: What are your current ranks in martial arts?
ANSWER:
Black belt in Shito Ryu Karate and brown belt in BJJ
Q: Specific accomplishments in pro competition?

Q: What fight do you consider to be the key fight in your career and why?

Defeating Philipe Lins by KO in UFC is what I consider my biggest win and catapulted my career. Though knocking out the late Tim Hague in 2016 (after he had knocked me out a year prior) is a big part of my personal legend.
Q: Is there a cause that you want to use your platform for?
ANSWER:
Right now there is a young boy who used to train at my gym named Benny. He has beaten cancer in the past but it has recently come back. His family is trying to raise money for him to get an experimental treatment in the USA. I would use my platform to help raise money for Benny to get the treatment.
Q: Beyond a championship or money, what motivates you?
ANSWER:
Fighting has always been just what I do and is part of the thing I am. I consider fighting my trade and I’m proud of it and good at it. I love it. I’m proud of the career I’ve had but I’m not done yet. There are pages still yet to be written and I want to author them in violence.
